About

Aircraft captain Cord Becker, born in 1949 in Hildesheim, Germany, brings almost 40 years of aviation experience in the cockpits of Lufthansa. Becker, a licensed training captain for the wide-bodied aircraft Airbus A330 and A340, supports the Lufthansa Training Centre in Frankfurt. His motto: Particularly in commercial aviation, discipline, responsibility and solid training are key to a successful take-off and a safe landing.

Becker, who has accrued almost 20,000 flying hours as a pilot, is also an experienced communications expert. His range of duties at Lufthansa also included the management role of Head of Communication Operations.

As a member of the executive board of the Professional Association of German Commercial Pilots, known as Vereinigung Cockpit, he volunteered as head of the Press and Public Relations Department for three years. Today Becker advises the media on aviation topics.

After being appointed captain in 1985, Becker not only flew in the line of duty but also spent over 20 years training pilots and working as a check and training captain. He also led courses for aviation personnel and assisted in seminars on relaxed flying for flight guests.

Having completed his last Lufthansa flight in March 2009, Becker now works as a freelance aviation consultant. He works in close cooperation with a group of experienced pilots and aviation managers.
